Theme

The site is envisioned as dark and light variations on a steampunk aesthetic. The dark theme should evoke a silver nitrate print, while the light theme should evoke an antiquarian book.

While I've tried my best to ensure it's lightweight, I've decided to pick custom fonts for now and deliver them. I may well switch to Georgia and call it a day.

What we talk about is wide open. This is important to me, but I have created this volume as "Industry" to focus on what I do for a living. Other volumes may follow later, perhaps "Community" or "Family". I don't anticipate "Faith" taking very long to write.

Self-promotion is historically a weak spot for me. The idea of a site wherein I tell you what I'm thinking revolted me for many years. It's a mouthpiece. It's the idea that whatever silly idea I've hatched up, you might be interested in hearing about it. The audacity.

It took a while to get over this, and I find that if I'm trying to help people who are reading, that makes it much easier. The other option, I suppose, is to treat it like a job. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I did use to write quite a bit of I'd like to think good stuff on short deadlines. When I wrote those pieces, I was trying to tell a story.
